Your Weekly CFI Training Boost
Whether it's teaching practice, mock checkride prep, or working through the CFI ACS task by task, every session is live, interactive, and led by Marcus, a CFI who's been exactly where you are.
Designed to supplement, strengthen, and accelerate your current training, these classes give you the extra reps, confidence, and real-world insight that make all the difference on checkride day.
Here's how the classes work.
01 . CFI Prep
Foundational teaching concepts - apply to all lessons
Marcus's approach to the task - gotchas and examples
Volunteer teaching - if you'd like some practice
Open time for questions and review - whatever YOU need
Every session is recorded and posted to backseatpilot.app
Each week has a theme
A single month provides a solid overview of the content, but the program is built on a three-month plan to immerse you in various foundational concepts and allow you to see and practice a handful of ground, flight, and other lessons and concepts.
02 . CFI Mock Checkride
Q&A and scenario-based questioning, like on a checkride. Covers the situations you'll face from the DPE.
03 . CFII Prep
Working through the CFII PTS, task by task. Same membership, attend any or all.
Classes are recorded for educational use. By joining, you agree to our Terms & Conditions.
Upcoming sessions
Class days and times vary each week, so more people can make it.
The full monthly schedule is posted on backseatpilot.app, along with every session recording.

Contact UsCan I try a class before subscribing?
Yes! Definitely. The first week is on us. Just sign up, attend a week of classes, and if it's not for you just cancel it from your account.
When you checkout the cart shows $0, and you won't be charged for 14 days. After your trial, it's just $75/month to keep your access to all weekly live classes.
Cancel anytime before the trial ends - no charge, no questions asked. You can manage your subscription right from your account dashboard. Login and click Membership in the top Navigation bar.
How do I access the classes after I subscribe?
Within minutes of subscribing, you'll receive two emails. One provides your backseatpilot.app login information. When class is starting, just log in and click 'Join' - easy as that!
You'll also get a second email containing your personalized Zoom links (tied to your email/account). These are a backup in case you ever need them. They're the same links as are used on backseatpilot.app.
How do I watch past class recordings?
Easy! Once you're a member you'll have access to the Class Pass page on backseatpilot.app. Login there to find all previous recordings.
You'll see the full library organized by date and/or class type - sort by class name, search by ACS task, or view all. Once you found what you're looking for just click play.
Do I have to attend every class?
Not at all. Attend whichever sessions are most valuable for where you are in your training. Everything is recorded either way.
What's the difference between CFI Prep and the Mock Checkride?
CFI Prep is teaching practice: a foundational concept, Marcus's approach to the task, and volunteer teaching with feedback. The Mock Checkride is checkride practice: Q&A and scenario-based questioning, the way a DPE runs an oral. Most candidates use both.
Is there a minimum commitment?
No. You can cancel anytime, and your access continues through the end of your current billing period. We're confident the training speaks for itself.
I'm already a CFI - is this just for candidates?
The Class Pass serves both audiences. Many practicing CFIs use the sessions for continuing education and improvement.
What's the difference between monthly and annual pricing?
Monthly is $75/month, annual is $495/year (equivalent to $41.25/month). The annual option saves you over 5 months of membership fees.
What happens if I cancel?
Your Zoom links automatically stop working at the end of your billing period, and you'll lose access to the members-only calendar and recordings. If you rejoin later, you'll get new links and full access again.
Are the classes interactive or just lectures?
Highly interactive. You can volunteer to teach in CFI Prep, practice answering examiner questions in the Mock Checkride, and the open time in every session is driven by member questions. These aren't webinars you passively watch (but if you're more comfortable just watching and listening, that's totally fine too!).
