Bought the CFI Combo - Worth every penny!

I am great presenter, but poor presentation maker, the CFI Combo kit had everything. That way I could study the material and prep vs formatting and building. Backseat Pilot’s lesson plan are great (I printed them ALL out - kept me on task and topic in my briefing, ensuring I covered everything), student tracker to help plot a path, ebook for my iPad/EFB, and PPT slides with good graphics and FAA images. The best part is the editable feature, so as I grow and have more examples I can add to PPTs, and Lessons. Lastly, the best part is they are up to date with the ACS. Thank you, CFI - Initial passed
**Be sure to check with your DPE, mine premised and thought they were great— as long as I reviewed the material, knew it, and had personalized. ie, Pre Solo Test, re-worked for my practical flight aircraft a CE-172M.

You're absolutely right about the DPEs. The most common feedback I've gotten from them lines up with your experience: as long as you know the material, can teach it effectively, and personalize it as needed, they're generally pretty happy. And there shouldn't be any issue using our lessons on your checkrides - this comes from the Aviation Instructor's Handbook (pg. 7-9):

'Commercially developed lesson plans are acceptable for most training situations, including use by flight instructor applicants during their practical tests. However, all instructors should recognize that even well-designed preprinted lesson plans may need to be modified. Therefore, instructors are encouraged to use creativity when adapting preprinted lesson plans or when developing their own lesson plans for specific learners or training circumstances.'
